March 23, 200422 yr I'm just now flying online and being alone over Russia, so I can't judge if this procedure is right or not. I've never saw this in my online flights over Europe with the usual CTR ATCs.The guy is requesting report from me for each waypoint. I should probably give him complete position report, like when flying NATs. But I dunno, waypoints are in kinda 30-40 miles distance, so this doesn't make much sense really. So I'm giving him only distance to the waypoint. But usually, in Europe, CTR tells me "identified", gives me SQWK code maybe, and reports traffic to me. But I never had to report each and every waypoint. I think in real world pilots also don't report all waypoints? Can someone shed some light on this one?
March 23, 200422 yr Sounds strange. Which online service is this?If it were me I would ask why its being done.Bill
March 23, 200422 yr VATSIM. Indeed strange. Well, I was at first wondering if that's the right thing to do...I could have asked. But well, I was hoping someone would answer here before I exit the area. Now I'm much further away already :)
March 23, 200422 yr safe landing :-) That does sound strange for VATSIM. When you get done maybe ask in the VATSIM forum here..Bill
March 24, 200422 yr Could it be he's simulating an area without radar coverage?---Carrier Landing: the most fun you can have with your pants on.
March 24, 200422 yr I think that over the whole Russia, one would have radar coverage. Besides, he was to the west from the Caspian Sea, so there is for sure radar control. I think it was just someone who was bored... hm...
