March 13, 201214 yr Folks, here's just a quick HU for you:Yesterday I've spent the entire evening to find out why my NAT status in Flight's multiplayer settings wouldn't change from 'moderate' to 'open' even though I had set up all required port forwarding rules in my router (which doesn't support UPnP).It turns out that the Windows firewall (Win7 in this case) was the culprit. The Flight installer had created exceptions for itself in the Windows firewall settings, but they were only activated for public networks, not for private networks (as which my primary network adapter was classified). This may be due to my non-standard network setup, but if you have the same problems check the firewall first. Regards, Tom
March 14, 201214 yr In addition, if you have a home network behind a NAT router, in order to host sessions, UDP port 3074 is required to be open in both directions on the NAT router (where incoming UDP 3074 traffic would be forwarded to the PC hosting the MS Flight session). I've documented this on my blog post at http://www.boche.net/blog/index.php/2012/03/04/microsoft-flight-week-1/ Jason BocheDelta Virtual Airlines Assistant Chief Pilot, B767-300
March 29, 201214 yr How to open the port please? For example, I have open from Router side 3074 UDP, it is also asking me a port on my workstation. what port should I use for that please? same port as 3074 or alway 80?
March 29, 201214 yr Author Port forwarding rules in routers usually require that you specify an external port to be opened (that is your on your router) and an internal port to which it is forwarded (that is your PC). Use the same port numbers for both external and internal ports when defining the forwarding rules on the router. You do not need to open the ports in question on the PC, Flight will just open them by itself once it is started. However, you should check your Windows Firewall to make sure that Flight is allowed to do that. If not, Flight opens these ports but the firewall will intercept any incoming traffic to it. Regards, Tom
March 29, 201214 yr got it, Then I have correctly opened below ports yesterday Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP und TCP) Port 53 (UDP und TCP) Port 80 (TCP)but not: Port 443 (TCP)from: http://support.xbox.com/de-DE/games/pc-games/sign-in-help-for-web-marketplaceI will open it today to have a try.I have closed windows firewall and avast. after it works, I will turn the both firewall on again. Thanks a lot for your reply!
March 29, 201214 yr well, the 443 TCP is opened, still the same, and the port can not be seen fromnetstat -anohow can I see whether the port is really opened? and how can I see what is happening there?
March 30, 201214 yr Author I wouldn't bother about which ports Flight actually opens at what time. If it works, there is nothing to worry about. You can check if Flight is happy with your network setup by pressing the HOME key and going to the Live settings screen. There's a tab with network info there. If the NAT status is 'open' then all is well. Regards, Tom
March 30, 201214 yr I just can not sign in the live in the Flight, after login live, it shows that downloading the profile. please do not close the game. after that, it shows error, I have never saw the live setting, will have a look this eve.Danke und Gruß
March 30, 201214 yr Author Ah, I see. I believe I read somewhere on the Flight page that with the initial release, some people had problems logging into Live.Check the troubleshooting section here, there are some solutions mentioned to your problem:https://microsoftfli...troubleshootingEDIT: I just ran the Games for Window Marketplace client. I can't log in either, although I could earlier. Something seems to be broken over at MS. Regards, Tom
