Any high quality helicopters?

Featured Replies

Hi,For some strange reason I lately got a taste for helicopters in FS.That is why I now would like to ask all of you who knows, if there are any high quality helicopter packages available,...payware or freeware.. When I say high quality I mean such as Captain Sim, PMDG or SSW A310 quality, with most systems working and with full system panels/cockpits.Any ideas where to navigate to find any? I have looked at Hoovercontrol, but didn

I too am interested in this. :)

There are some very, very nice helos for free download at http://www.hovercontrol.com. I got an Augusta 109 that's really great looking and flying just last night from that site. Jordan Moore's work is top-notch, and there are some works by other authors on their site too. In fact, if you like simulated rotary wing flying, HoverControl is an excellent all around resource. Check it out! I'm seriously considering getting Aerosoft's Manhattan scenery so I can practice big-city helo flying soon. I think it's a welcome change of pace from fixed-wing operation.thanks,

although the freeware choppers mentioned above are fine, there are NO helopackages in the same league as Capt Sim, Flight1, Dreamfleet simply because 'they' think the market for decent choppers is too small. Well I like to see a chopper of the same quality as say the Yak 9 from CS :)Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. Since you mentioned either payware or freeware, I understand that The LZ sells excellent helis for FS. I do not purchase addons for FS myself but have seen plenty of posts from users of the LZ choppers, all of whom were more than satisfied with the quality. Otherwise, some of the best freeware helis currently available can be found at Hovercontrol. But I believe Rob is correct when he says the developers' perception of the market is that it's too small to devote their resources to providing Dreamfleet/Capt.Sim/Flight1 quality helicopters.-Lindy :-rotor:-wave

Staffan, you are out of luck at the moment, Rob hit the nail on the head. As for the best freeware out there all around, I would probably go with the A109 as well. While Lindy mentioned the LZ helis, they are not even close in quality when for what you are looking for and the 109 even surpasses them (they really need work in the VC area)Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters
