My system is the one in my sig but with an updated GFX to HD 6750 2GB , what is the recommended system for XPX ?

Your system actually doesn't look to bad, running at 4ghz, I've seen worse around here expecting more.How much money do you want to spend? I can run pretty much full out on all settings except ai and HDR and get FPS anywhere from 20's up to and over 100 depending on the weather conditions. All that running at a resolution of 4020x1024, across 3 monitors. Visit the Hardware forums here at Avsim, lots of knowledgeable people in there. A lot of them are building FSX systems, where you really have to have as much CPU horse power you can afford, not so much with the GPU. Xplane I think is a little different, and relies more on a powerful GPU, but certainly throw as much CPU at it that you can.Intel Ivey Bridge is right around the corner, and Nvidia are coming out with their 600 series of cards, you might want to look at building a system around those components, if you can afford it of course.Glen

well I should be upgrading the system within the next couple of months and this time I am going Intel as AMD currently does not have anything that interests me in terms of CPU power (unless and until Piledriver is really good) but for the GFX card my budget is limited to a HD 6850 (has been confirmed by Luminar to get this card or the 560Ti both the cards are having 2000 passmarks) as the 6850 is pretty powerful , I should be buying this card within the next few days.Yes XPX is more GPU dependent.As to the OC on my system I have got it down to the stock speeds due to power imbalance on the whole system , I am going to try and OC again 2nite back to 4.0 Ghz and check.I doubt that I would be able to afford an IB and also the 600 series cards. I don't mind going with 2500k or 2600k unless IB has got the same pricing with a higher IPC.
