April 3, 200422 yr Author The manual from the Garmin web site is amazing thorough (as well it should be) and has step by step instructions for creating a flight plan, but here's the deal:1.) Click the FPL button to get to the 'Active Flight Plan' page.2.) Rotate the right inner knob clockwise to get to the 'Flight Plan Catalog'3.) Click MENU and 'Create a flight plan' is the third entry down.To load a previously created plan:1.) Click the FPL button to get to the 'Active Flight Plan' page.2.) Rotate the inner know clockwise to get to the 'Flight Plan Catalog'3.) Click the region to the immediate LEFT of the right side knob to activate the cursor (this is a gauge thing to simulate pushing the middle knob).4.) Use the right outer knob to choose a flight plan.As an aside, you don't need to be in the simulator to program flight plans - you can launch the Garmin Trainer and enter your plans there, they will all be available in sim next time you fire up the meridian! Last, flight plans that you create are stored in the C:Program FilesGARMINGARMIN 500 Series Trainer folder - or wherever you installed it - in a file called GNC500NV.DAT. I suggest backing up that file just in case you need to reinstall the trainer app. Also, by archiving that file you can have more than twenty flight plans for the garmin. I have regionalized mine and have twenty plans on the east coast, twenty west coast and alaska, twenty in the EU, etc. Before flying, I just copy the correct GNC500NV.DAT into the garmin trainer directory and off you go!Hope that helped!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
