April 5, 200422 yr Dear all,I was happily flying when I encountered the dreaded CTD. The atc is guiding me to land at RJCC when this happened. Assuming this is the infamous seasonal CTD, I edited my terrain.cfg as suggested in Tips&Tricks section(changing Maskclassmap 3 and 1 to 0), but have yet to install the patch by Joachim.I then started the flight fresh (not loading from previos autosave). However, I encountered the same problem at approximately the same spot. On both occasion, it was indicated that atc.dll is the culprit.I also recalled having this error a while ago when flying in South America (forgot the exact location). Can anyone help me solve this problem?Regards,J. April 5, 200422 yr do you have lots of AI traffic? i have found this crash sometimes occurs on my PC when there is lots of AI activity.
April 5, 200422 yr Yes, I do have considerable amount if AI traffic. I installed MRAI's JAL and ANA flightplans. Is keeping the AI at minimum (or set it to 0%) will cure the problem?jap
April 5, 200422 yr Johan and yaphet,I tried your suggestions but no luck. I still got the same error, at the same spot. This thing is really getting annoying, and judging by the amount of posts related to this error, Microsoft should be doing something about this glitch (or may be they will solve this problem completely in FS2006...)Are there any other suggestion to cure this problem?regards, japangg
April 7, 200422 yr Hi GentlemenI have had this problem for a while now along with a friend. We both use Fs2002 along with Ultimate Traffic. We both seem to have this problem when alot of AI traffic is present, (Mostly on the ground). What I do is delete the atc.dll and replace it before restarting. If I don't It will happen again for sure. I haven't noticed it happening in a certain area or scenery. I wish I had an answer for you but maybe with more people talking about it, someone will come up with a solution. Best Regards
April 8, 200422 yr I use MyTraffic 2004 which produces quite a bit of AI Traffic. FS2004 crashing is a pretty darn rare occurence on my system. But I just had a crash due to 'atc.dll'!:-boom Arrrghh!!Oh Well,Jim
