Adding call signs to panels

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! Is it possible to add call signs to panels? Most of panels that I have already have them, but there are a couple that don't. I know how to add gauges to panels, but don't find anywhere in the panel.cfg where it refers to call signs. If possible other than learning how to add them to any panel, I would find really useful to have speed call signs, mostly to use them when I am on final. Is there any download available with these call sings. Thanks,Leo

Not to certain exactly what it is you're after- if you mean to add the Aircraft's callsign to the panel ( EG N123XX or G-ZZZZ etc) then you can open the panel bitmap ( in Paint or PSP) and add it to a suitable empty spot on the panel(pixel by pixel) then "save as" and next time you use the aircraft it will be there. However,I think you're probably asking for some kind of readout ( what is a speed call sign ??).If so - post an explanation of exactly what you are after and maybe someone will be able to help.Dave

Dave:You're right, what I need are readouts. For example most of the panels you download have altitude readouts when you are in final: 500 hundred, 400 hundred...50, 40, 30...This is what I need to know how to install and make it work in panels that don't have it.The other things is that I would like to have are speed readouts, to make sure the plane is not loosing too much speed while I am on final. Something telling me 180, 175, 170...Thanks,Leo

Those audio readouts are generated by special gauges and .wav files. Either look for such gauges in the file library, or copy one from an existing a/c you have that has them to the a/c you want to use it in.

I remember a while (year or more) ago playing around with a program that you could configure to do things like that - it would call(audio) at V1 Vr etc and also I think you could get it to give Alt and speed readouts etc.Trouble is I can't remember what it was called. It worked "outside" of FS but would run with any aircraft - no editing etc required.Perhaps someone else on here may know more about it.I abandoned it - not because it didn't work - it did , but because it just didn't really interest me.I think I got it from Surclaro FS library.Dave
