Istanbul area coastlines

Recommended Posts

Continuing from an older post here http://forum.avsim.n...ery-marmarazip/I have the same problemI have a problem with FS9 Istanbul scenery and was wondering if someone had any clue as to the reason.I get wrong coastlines as seen in the attached screenshot.ltba.jpgI have installed the following scenery:http://www.trvacc.or...LATIONGUIDE.rarhttp://www.trvacc.or...rmara%20VFR.rarhttp://www.trvacc.or...BA2008_v1.2.rarhttp://www.trvacc.or...ew2010afcad.rarPer instructions I have the scenery priorities as follows:#1 LTBA2008_v1.21,#2 COGRAFYA#3 ISTANBULI have also LTFJ 2005 scenery installed. It does not affect the problem because I deactivated it and nothing changes. The problem files seem to be HL955170.BGLand HP955170.BGL in FS9SceneryAsiascenery folder. They are the ones which define coastlines in the area.I reactivated the original MS ones and the problem still persists.I have Greek sceneries installed from HSP and GAP but before posting here I deactivated all of them reloaded FS9 and the problem still persists.Any help would be appreciated so I could enjoy this wonderful scenery in FS9.

there is a conflict between Marmaris and HSP Greece ....marmara replaces :HL955170.bglHP955170.bglRD955170.bglST955170.bglto avoid double coastlinesHSP replaces (amoung others):HP955170.bgland inserts:HSPASIA001.bglHSPASIA002.bglHSPASIA003.bglHSPASIA004.bglHSPASIA005.bglHSPASIA006.bglHSPASIA007.bglHSPASIA008.bglHSPASIA009.bglHSPASIA010.bglHSPASIA011.bglthen the double coastlines are back ...reason is:HP955170.bglHSPASIA005.bglHSPASIA006.bgland:LGMT_LWM2.bgl (in the scenery folder of HSP Greece (no texture)I used SBuilder to change these bgls (simply deleting parts situated in Turkey)HP955170.bgl --> HP955170_LWM2.bglHSPASIA005.bgl --> HSP5_LWM2.bglHSPASIA006.bgl --> HSP6_LWM2.bglLGMT_LWM2.bgl --> HSPLGMTLWM2.bgland everything was fine (coexistence...):)

Unfortunately simply de-activating the HSP entries in the scenery .cfg file will not remove the problem.I solved this a few years ago without rebuilding any files. I had to undo the installation of the HSP files in the base FS9 scenery. This means (1) restoring the original FS9 scenery files removed (or backed up) during HSP installation and then (2) removing the new files added during HSP installation. The HSP installation instructions will show you exactly how to return to the original configuration. After this, (3) I installed the Istanbul files following the directions.Note that it is still possible to use the many fine add-on sceneries for individual Greek airports (but not the august HSP as a whole) in conjunction with the Istanbul add-ons.Hope it works out for you,Bill
