April 6, 200422 yr Can anyone advise whether there is any documentaion relating to the two files one gets on saving a flight? The .FLT file is in a readable format, and one can work out many of the entries, but the .WX is different. What data does this contain?I notice that the FS2K2 files are very much smaller than the FS9 files.I came to this as I am still using FS2K2, and am wondering whether one can use FS9 saved flights e.g Doherty's Dangerous Approaches. They seems to work to an extent, but the weather doean't seem right.ThanksDavid
April 6, 200422 yr You can use earlier flightplans but new entries in the FS2004 *.flt file will not be present. The *.wx files are weather files. I don't know if different entries have been made to this file in FS2004 vice FS2002. The weather engines are certainly different.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
April 6, 200422 yr Thanks for your reply - it would seem to agree with what I have found. There is a huge difference in file sizes between the FS2k2 and FS9 WX files, and when I start a (FS9) saved flight in FS2K2, it seems to actually delete the WX file, and hence ignore the weather aspect of the flight.Guess I'll have to think about getting FS9!David
