April 3, 201214 yr I was just listening to the latest FSBreak podcast, and in it AOA's Chris Palmer says he has switched from using FSX to process the axis assignments for the NGX to FSUIPC. Until I bought the NGX last August, I had FSUIPC exclusively handle all my hardware (CH Products Yoke and Throttle, and Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals), using it for it's increased fidelity in joystick movement and calibration. PMDG explicitly stated in their intro document that they do not recommend using FSUIPC for joystick axis assignment and calibration, and so I took them at their word and started sending those commands directly to FSX in its controller options module. I really have no complaints using FSX to control the axis in the NGX after all these months, but this statement by Chris, as well as seeing some comments on this forum from others saying they use FSUIPC successfully, has me thinking that I may want to switch all controls back to FSUIPC. All this time I had been using FSX for hardware control because I was under the impression that they had special code that processed the axis controls from FSX, not FSUIPC. I have always used FSX to control button assignments, so I wouldn't be impacted by a supposed parking brake assignment glitch that may be related to FSUIPC use. Is this worth pursuing, is there a marked improvement in the control performance with FSUIPC in charge for the NGX? Did PMDG ask users not to use FSUIPC because there was a chance of a software conflict for a few users, and they wanted to avoid the support headaches? A.J. Domingo
April 3, 201214 yr Hello, I had a problem but I solved it!! Deleted the the FSUIPC4.INI file. Setup everything again through FSUIPC4. I think I kept my ini file to long after not using a lot of planes anymore! http://forum.simflight.com/topic/71222-saitek-trottle-contoller-activate-the-reverser-after-engine-start-nr1-or-shutdown-problem/ Now everything is working great and no problems! I got my my Fuel cut-off idle switches working through FSUICP and gear down, up and off assigned to a lever from my Saitek Trottle quadrant. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/71161-pmdg-737-ngx-gear-down-up-locked-question/ Robert
