Mixture on the DC6

Featured Replies

One of the biggest turnoffs for supercharged piston props for me in FSX is the FA ratio modeling. In a supercharged engine it does not get richer as altitude is gained except above critical altitude and as a ratio of power output during lower power operations at high altitude with lower turbocharger output (less exhaust) or through to low of an RPM. but all of the FSX supercharged piston aircraft will loose a large amount of power every 3000 feet unless you pull the mixture back. By 10000 feet it practically in idle cutoff. This is pretty unrealistic for a normally aspirated engine as well even though with those it does get more rich with altitude. I am really looking foreward to this plane but I just hope you guys can find a work around for this.

Could you guys also model bootstrap effect? That may be asking to much but it would be cool to get punished for using to low an rpm at high altitude. This one would frustrate the greenies for sure!

It would be fun to be able to add oil to the engines as well, with a funnel, you know. Just kidding.

No but seriously the FA ratio thing has got to go. And that's fuel / air ratio not flight attendants. :Peace:
