FSNav & Aileron Trim Problems

Featured Replies

On my new computer I suspect a problem has been introduced by FSNav. When I now fly using FSNav the acft will fly with a wing down attitude of at least a few degrees. When FSNav is then disengaged the acft will roll off to one wing and I have to "fiddle" with the aileron trim (Ctrl+NP4 or NP6) to get the acft trimmed back to a stable, wings level condition. Prior to engagement of FSNav there are no stability problems. When not using FSNav there is absolutely no problems with acft stability. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this problem and/or how to correct it?JoeTDell Dimension 8300P4, 3 GHZ 800 MHZ FSB w/HTT1 GIG DDR SDram @ 40 MHZNividia 128MB DDR GeF FX5200120 GIG HDWIN XP Pro w/SP1Dx9.0bFSUIPC 2.974FSNav 4.6FS2002

When you fly a flight plan using FSNav, what is happening is that FSNav is adjusting the regular FS autopilot. The autopilot will adjust trim settings as necessary to keep the flight level. Usually it adjusts the elevator trim, but I suppose it could adjust the aileron trim also. I don't think that FSNav is causing your aircraft to get out of trim this way.My best bet is that you joystick may not be calibrated properly. You mention a new computer, and this reminds me of problem I had awhile back when my new computer didn't like my force feedback joystick for some reason. This is exactly the sort of effect it was having too - the aircraft would roll to one side.Anyway, that's just my thought. Since FSNav doesn't control the trim directly, then it probably isn't the problem.- Martin

Martin..The problem only exist when FSNav is engaged. All other flights are perfectly normal. If the joystick was out of calibration, which it isn't, that mis-calibration would be present with all flights not just FSNav flights.JoeT

All default a/c or some or third party? You could try a reinstall of FSNAV but I believe your problem lies elsewhere. Is there a possibility that FSNAV is crabbing into the wind? That would be normal and would give the results you describe when you disengage the AP.HTH,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Vic,All 3rd party..never fly a default. I've reinstalled FSNav to no avail. I may try to track down an old ver of FSNav and install & then install an old ver of FSUIPC too.Just flew a Fk-50 back to SFO frm RNO w/o FSNav and the flight went without a hitch...well almost...seems I've suddenly lost the ability to chg comm freqs via the acft radios. The freqs will chg on the radio unit but will not "contact a station". I can be right on top of an airport and dial in the ATIS & get nothing. However if I use the ATC window and select the airport ATIS I get it even though the comm unit does not display the correct freq. The radio section in the configs are all correct. Perhaps I should get a beer at this juncture???JoeT
