April 14, 201214 yr I've a new computer with Windows 7, and have installed with run as administrator .Things work except for Radar Contact. When I try to get ATC clearance I get 'runtime error 75'. I've now gone to the general options page and pressed the voice test button. This brings up 'runtime error 75 RadarContact rcv4module.atc_ack'. Any ideas on how I should clear this? I've used Radar Contact with FSX for some years now, but with Windows XP, and had no problems there. Help please Bob
April 14, 201214 yr Just confirming you have set up a shortcut to RC and set its run program level properties to run as admin after the initial install. This is not the same as user account properties (run as another user). Please see the pinned topic at the forum head on runtime error 75 regarding the action of security applications. RC must be set to be an ignored application in firewalls and anti-virus applications. http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=100174 Changes regarding entire folder access must be entered and you'll see in that thread security changes for various solutions including MSE. RC uses I think the Windows TEMP folder to assemble wav phrases for audio playback and that could be the cause of your error among others.
April 15, 201214 yr Author Yes I've set up RC shortcut and run as admin. I've read the pinned topic for this error to no avail. My security is McAfee which came with the comp. Windows temp folder does not contain RC, but I think I found them in C:/ Users/myself/favourites. yesterday I installed the latest fsuic and set it to run as admin. So I'm no further on My present situation is that if I hit button 1 for clearance I get Runtime error 75 RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code .If I hit the voice test button I get failure as in my original post Thanks for your help so far..
April 15, 201214 yr Turn off Mcafee temporarily and try running a voice test. You don't need FS running for that quick check. If you want to you can disable the port to the Internet if you are worried about stuff coming while testing. The voice test does not use FSUIPC nor FS. You can also check the folder properties of RC and sub folders to insure there are no access restrictions. These would be the scripts, data, and winwood folders. If using MSE that also could be a problem source - I don't have it. With current FSUIPC versions using an .exe installer it should not be necessary to run them as admin. FS itself should be started with a shortcut to run at the admin program level but this is not related to this problem as described.
April 16, 201214 yr Author Hello Ronzie, Took drastic action and un-installed all FSX etc. Re-installed on other hard disk. Switched McAfee off and installed radar Contact, tested voice and all was well. McAfee back on and still tested OK. Have just tried a basic trip and all is still working. We seem to have got it, I wonder if all now being on second hard disk away from windows did the trick. Thanks for your help and fingers crossed all will continue OK
