April 18, 200422 yr Hello,I need advice from those of you who have used either Jumbo 2004 or Ready for Push-Back. I'm looking into buying either Jumbo 2004 by Perfect Flight or Ready for Pushback by VMAX. I checked their webpages and each offer interesting features. The Jumbo 2004 has something which I really like - 550 flight plans included; but how is the flight dynamics of the Jumbo 2004 versus the Ready for Pushback 747-200? What about the functionality of the gauges on the panels? Does Jumbo offer a panel any better than the default as the screen shots look very much like the FS2004 default panel. It looks like the ready for pushback panels are second to none... Any comments on the panels and the flight dynamics would be much appreciated. For those of you who have used either one of these jet, can you let me know what you think? Thanks,John I love flying my "iddy biddy Jumbo" CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, socket 775/3GHz/1333MHz bus/6MB cache MOBO: Asus P5E3 Deluxe WiFi-AP@n/Intel X38 chipset RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX 1333MHz. rated 7-7-7-20, matched pair (2 x 2GB) GRAPHICS: Sapphire Radeon 5770HD 1GB (w/ fan) MONITOR: Samsung 24", 2494HM LCD wide-screen 1920x1080 SOUND: SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS HARD DRIVES: 1xWestern Digital WD1600JD SATA 160GB (primary/Windows XP and system boot drive) 1xWestern Digital WD3200AAJS SATA2 320GB (secondary/Flight Simulator 2004 running off WinXP Pro 32-bit, games video editing drive) 1xWestern Digital 500GB Black series SATA2 (Windows 7 64-bit: FSX is running off Win7; Windows XP Professional 32-bit) CASE: Antec Sonata III 500W OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit for FSX; Windows XP Pro 32-bit for other things.
April 18, 200422 yr Just my opinion but I think you would be disappointed with the Jumbo. Perfect flight aircraft are not that great. There is freeware out there that are better than what they offer. The RFP 747 is fantastic but is not for people who don't or won't read the manual on how to fly it. Or..... you could just wait until PMDG finishes their 747.Willhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
April 18, 200422 yr Hi John,I would steer clear of Perfect Flight products. RFP definitely has the better flight dynamics - actually everything is better. You will be able to use real procedures, as the systems are properly implemented, where PF only uses default gauges. If you want flight plans, do a search in the library for 'Pete Pitman', you will find loads of real-world flight plans in FS format (granted, they're outdated, but I'll bet so are Perfect Flight's plans - and they may not even be based on real routes to start with).Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
April 18, 200422 yr hiI have the RFP 747 v1 and have been very pleased with it. The 747 Classic is one of my favorite aircrafts and it is modelled very well in the Ready for Pushback product, also I now use the POSKY 742 aswell. As these guys said, I would also stay clear of Perfect Flight products as you can get more better ones for free. Too bad there are no reviews of the Perfect Flight products as they are usually below the standards of most FS2004 payware products.Jani
April 18, 200422 yr Author Hello to all who replied so far - Will, Gosta and Jani,Thanks for the advice everyone. I had a strong feeling that Ready-for pushback was the better product by far, especially after reading their specs and looking at the screen shots. Will, don't worry, I intend to use the manual for the Ready for PushBack if I buy it. I'm not a speed-reader but I'm developing (and perhaps already had) a very patient pilot personality.*** By the way, has anyone noticed if there are any obvious differences between the flight dynamics for POSKY 747-400 and the Ready For PushBack ones and if so, what differences do you feel, especially when landing or manuevering? Just curious...
