April 18, 200422 yr I still can't figure this out. I need helpIs there a way to choose which runway you use without totally putting ATC on dis-regard??Today, I flew a VFR short hop out of KBDL. KBDL is like thisRunway 06/24; 15/33 and 01/1906; 33 and 24 have ILS' on them. The prevailing surface wind was 140 and 11 knots.I think it's fairly obvious that the runway of choice would be 15.ATC assigned and would not deviate from 06 and I couldn't get a option to choose another runway. How do I get them to change the runway I use...BobL
April 18, 200422 yr It is possible the AFCAD for KBDL is not designed for multiple simultaneous runways. I'm really not too sure about this but that may be the case. ATC will only offer other runways that are near to the wind direction it "sees" at the moment.DougDell 8250 (3.06GHz/533FSB)512 Rambus RAM120MB ATA 100 (7200 RPM)ATI Radeon 9700 Pro (Catalyst 4.3)Audigy 2 Sound (latest drivers)MS Force Feedback 2WindowsXP Pro (SP1)DirectX 9.0b Doug Miannay PC: i9-13900K (OC 6.1) | ASUS Maximus Z790 Hero | ASUS Strix RTX4080 (OC) | ASUS ROG Strix LC II 360 AIO | 32GB G.Skill DDR5 TridentZ RGB 6400Hz | Samsung 990 Pro 1TB M.2 (OS/Apps) | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 (Sim) | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 (Games) | Fractal Design Define R7 Blackout Case | Win11 Pro x64
April 18, 200422 yr I had thought about that myself. I have UT and that is one of the airfields modified. And, for purposes of certainty, I'm using FS2004. I had discounted the idea at first because although I picked on KBDL, I've had trouble with it all over the US including places that don't have a UT modified airport. If you do not have UT installed, would you mind setting up a scenario that forces the local wind to 140 at 15 knots. Use the C-182S so that everything else is constant with my flight today. Then go fly it and see what runway ATC gives you..BobL
April 19, 200422 yr Author You've got a couple of choices.1. Increase the wind until ATC gives you runway 15 (over 20 kts?)2. Use AFCAD2 to add a "fake" ILS to runway 15 (give it a frequency like 999.99). Then it won't be shunned by ATC.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
