April 19, 200422 yr Hi,I have a strange experience as soon as I switch on AI traffic for some add-on airports: the screen turns black, the PC processor runs for a minute or so, and then FS9 crashes. This happens at the German Airport add-ons for EDDM, EDDH and the KLGA add-on. I do not have that problem at any other add-on airport (about 40 of them). What could be the cause?? I have tried the following things:- use both stock and modified AFCADs- reduce the traffic % to as little as 1%- use different (default) planes for viewing- use different times of day- unchecked GA traffic- re-install the airportsPlease please someone give me a hint, I am really stuck at some of my favourite airports!Cheers
April 20, 200422 yr Author To add to my previous post: some airports don't crash right away, it is only when I use the observer plane camera and "turn around" to get some more views that suddenly FS9 crashes.I have LOTS of AI traffic, but then there are airports that have even more traffic than these ones - for instance, KLAX, KORD, KATL, EGLL, LFPG, etc are all running smoothly. What are the things that are "kicked off" by switching on traffic that could make FS 9 crash?
April 20, 200422 yr You said you've reinstalled the airports. What happens when you use the default FS2004 airports?
April 20, 200422 yr Author Steven, thanks for asking that question which may seem so banal at first sight - but it revealed that even with the default airport and stock AFCAD I have exactly the same problem!!I believe I can exclude the error originating from AI planes, as there is no plane that all these airports have in common, and also most of the airlines that go to these airports I have seen them working perfectly alright at others.Gosh, I am just lost why AI just wouldn't work in these places... Could it have to do with some entry in the airport.txt file?Cheers
April 20, 200422 yr Hmmm...Here's what I suggest. See what happens if you save all of your add-ons, then completely uninstall FS9, removing the fs9.cfg in your documents and settings... folder, then reinstall FS9.After that, add one airport at a time and see whether that helps.
April 20, 200422 yr Author Steve,OK, I'll try first to only delete the fs9.cfg without completeley de-installing FS9 altogether. I'll see what happens. If that does not work, I may still have to do a complete de-installation.Cheers
