April 22, 200422 yr Read on for a rather frustrating experience at getting support for the L39 trainer jet add-on I bought back in 2001 for FS2000... Now I'd like to install it again (in FS2002 - there was an update provided for it), but the archived installer I have doesn't work for some reason. So, here's my experience in trying to get help:1. tried to access the L39 support forum at the CaptainSim site. But, a registration is required - I can't even read the forum without a logon. However, this forum was created well after I bought the product, so I don't have a valid registration.2. tried to get a registration for the forum. That requires an order number, which I never received - I believe this is because CaptainSim changed their product distribution system after I bought the product. So, no joy on the forum.3. went to the captainsim.com site, and looked high and low for an email address to contact. No such thing. The only recourse shown is via the forums - see (1) and (2).4. emailed the from: address that is attached to the confirmation/install code email that I got when I paid my $33. That address - [email protected] - bounced with a message that that address isn't used anymore, and that I should use "[email protected]".5. emailed "[email protected]" - that bounced too, with a "This address does not exist".So, I've been foiled at every turn. Thus, I am making my plea here at Avsim. Could someone at CaptainSim please contact me directly or provide an email address that I can contact to get registered for the forum (and hopefully also get the most recent installer for the product)? Thanks,Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
