April 21, 201214 yr I will soon be building my first PC (primarily for use of FSX). When I look on Amazon, I am confused as to which version of Windows 7 to get? The two versions that I see are Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 Pack ($99.99) verses Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium ($189.99). Any Suggestions? Thank You.
April 21, 201214 yr The cheaper version is probably the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version. This means that you can only install this Windows on one computer, because it locks to the motherboard. If there's need to reinstall Windows, then that's no problem because it's still the same motherboard. But if you have to change your motherboard, even if it's the exact same type, then the activation code won't work, because it's a different motherboard then the one where it was previously installed on. If you want to be able to install Windows on other or new computers, then you should get the Full, more expensive, version. Hope this helps. Arjen Vandervelde
