  1. Thanks both of you ... lots of help to me.
  2. Is there a way to map a key on my keyboard to set the heading bug in the direction I am currently flying? I have tried "SET HEADING BUG" and "SELECT HEADING BUG". Maybe my memory is failing me, but I thought I could do this in the old days of FSX.
  3. Thanks Virtual-Chris for starting this discussion. It has proven very educational and informative.

This news about the possibility of a future PDX is music to my eyes.

Most interesting. A perspective I have not heard before. What a bummer for me, considering that I live in Portland.
  6. Good point Manny. I should have stated my request for larger airports. You can't beat Orbx for the smaller ones.
  7. A great set of responses. And that KPHL Sunskyjet looks fantastic ... and for free! As they say here in Portland, "Free is a very good price", although I do like to donate for quality freeware. I can imagine it takes hours if not days to create this stuff. Any more suggestions always welcomed.
  8. Since the release of Orbx NA LC, I would like recommendations for payware airports in North America. Any and all suggestions would be welcome.
  9. I am now following this thread and thank all for your great comments. Yes I used UT2 in FSX and yes it was a frame rate hog. In fact, I uninstalled it. Looks like in the near future, I may have to buy MT6.
  10. l haven't tried it yet, but will do so sometime in the next two or three months. I will let you know, but right now I am just financially tapped out.
  11. I have had my BenQ 32 inch BL3200PT for over a week now, and can report that I love love love it. Took me almost no time to get used to it. P3D looks awesome and I do think the colors are better and brighter than my old monitor. For web surfing, I use the windowed mode as I do find the size just a tad too big ... but no problem, with windowed mode. For folks that wear bifocals (yes I am one of those) I strongly suggest consider getting a separate set of "computer" glasses that have a focal length just the right distance for a computer screen. I have been using these for a number of years and couldn't be without them. I would rate my 32 inch monitor a 100% success. Thanks Vortex for all of your help.
  12. Thank you very much, but I have a bathroom 10 feet down the hall. I suggest that Orbx put a poll on their website and ask their users how they fell about this subject.
  13. Having the inside of buildings modeled is the most idiot thing I can imagine. When is the last time you flew inside a building? How many screenshots have you seen on the screenies forum of building insides? Are you listening Orbx?
  14. Thanks jscarano. I had almost forgot about this thread. I just my try it now. Happy Flying! PDX
  15. Well Vortex, I just pressed by buy button on Amazon and bought the BenQ 32 inch BL3200PT. I am nervous that it might be too big, but figured that I am not getting any younger, and when it comes to font size, as they say in Texas, bigger is better. It is being delivered tomorrow. Will update you next week on my progress with it. I can/t thank you enough for your input. I really spent a lot of time reviewing all of my choices. There are just so many variables that go into this decision. Thank You! And Happy Flying! Please see my prior comment to Vortex.
  16. My mistake. What I meant was the BenQ RL2755HM. But the rest of what you said makes a lot of sense, Do you mind me asking what brand and model 32 inch did you buy? I will have to admit, this is a very confusing decision for me.
  17. I don't know if this is a good solution, but I am now considering the BenQ VG278HE Gaming monitor. It is 1920x1080, has 1ms response time. It is $260 and has among the highest ratings I have seen for a monitor on Amazon. I think a 32 inch monitor is just too big for me.
  18. How small does the print look when surfing the internet on your monitor. I have heard some folks say it is too small. Thanks for your response. This is one model I was looking at. Good advice on the hz rating.
  19. If anyone has experience or suggestions, they would be appreciated. I own a 4770K overclocked to 4.4 and a GTX 970 GPU. I am somewhat confused about the following: 60mhz vs. 140mhz; g-sync vs v-sync; response time, brands, etc. If necessary, I am willing to spend up to $550, although would prefer a lower price. The main reason for the monitor is P3D, photograph editing, and the internet. I don't want to overspend, but do want to get the best quality for my uses, primarily P3D. Thanks, PDX
  20. Fascinating this thread. I do own the A2A Civilian Mustang and the Just Flight Eurofighter and really like both of them. I have seriously considered the M2M Mirage 2000 and either it or the Super Hornet will likely be my next purchase? Does anyone know if the Milviz F-15 will fly in P3D. I love the looks of the F-15 and would love to buy it if I thought it would work in P3D. Lots of wonderful ideas guys.
  21. Great plane and it does work in P3D.
  22. Thanks so much Jason. Much good information here!
  23. Any ideas would be welcome. When I look on the web sites, most make no reference that they work in P3D. Would be especially interested in an F-15 that works in P3D, or any other recommendations.
  24. A2A Cub Happy Flying! PDX
