February 13, 200323 yr Peter,Goto www.flightinfo.com and www.aviationinterviews.com and see the times people have when they are being hired. All I'm saying is that hours is hours and whether you pay 60g or 30g for it you'll be looked at similarly.
February 14, 200323 yr Riddle had someone hired at ACA (Atlantic Coast Airlines, Delta and United Express carrier) with 275 Total Time and 25 multi (no PIC multi). That's gotta be a record. That was about 2 or 3 years ago though, ahhh how times have changed....I don't agree that all they see is time. If I was up against someone who had safety pilot time, and I had hard IFR time, I bet that even with less hours I would have more experience, and I would shine better.skyy
February 14, 200323 yr They don't really care about single time. Multi time (PIC) is the key. Single time only comes in when they have total time minimums.FYI, on ACA's website they do give preferential treatment to Riddle grads (lower minimums). However, I know a riddle grad that went through the "intern" program (basically a 12 week slave - you're unpaid) and then got an interview and joined the pool with a class date in June. Because of the United ch. 11 they have recently told him not to expect a class until Dec 2004. I think things are in a state of flux with them.
