FS9 Crashes to Desktop! (Very Interesting)

Featured Replies

Hey there! First post in the forum...

When flying around , especially on the descent/approach with my Wilco A321, flying online at VATSIM, half of the top menu disappears, e.g , it was Flights, Aircraft, Options, Views, Help , Tools, Modules, etc. half of it went to the other side, Modules, PMDG, FSCopilot. Then I hear a fatal error message. Then FS2004 crashes, I can't close it, (right click is disabled by itself, when this happens..)

What do I do?

I am running Windows XP

Dell Inspiron 6400.

I never had a problem like this , perhaps because I deleted my fs9.cfg due to a PSS problem... Should I replace it with my old back-up?

Yours Sincerely,

Alex...

Great to be in your community! :Just Kidding:

Apologies if this is in the wrong category !

Hi Alex,

Welcome to AVSIM!

Please tell us in detail what the error message says. Also you could describe what screen mode you are using and some of your settings. For now I would keep your back up FS9.cfg safe and simply delete the current one and allow FS to build a new one and see what happens. This may not be a fs9.cfg related problem.

Regards,

Mel

There is no error message! I just hear the warning error sound (BONG) and then FS2004 black screen, with half of menu missing, and right click is disabled for a few secs... I put my old .cfg back and no problems so far... Thanks!
