There's some freeware out there--I don't know which, that is overwriting the .fx files for the contrails with FS2002 version--hence the problem you have. The quickest fix is to go to your FS2004 cd's and extract the contrail effects files from your CD. Sorry to say, I can't recall which CD, but I had to do the same after installing some freeware early this year...-John
