April 29, 200422 yr I recently had to reinstall MSFS 2004, and although ny frame rates are generally 25-30 FPS, the program will stutter, and FPS will drop down to 2-3 fps for no reason, even if the plane is standing still. My specs are:Athlon 2400+512 RAMNVidia GeForece FX 5200 graphics cardI don't know what the problem is...I downloaded the latest drivers and the card seems to be working, i just can't explain the stuttering. I am a private pilot, and besides for moderate turbulance, I don't remember the plane ever stuttering! Can anyone help? Thanks, Pilot Pete Pete Solov - Lake in the Hills 3CK and Schaumburg Regional 06CProud AOPA Member - PPL 2001Real World Piper Cherokee Pilot
April 29, 200422 yr Author Pete,What are your settings in FS9. For example if you have maximum vis set up like 120 miles or so, you can get stutters during turns. I have the new PMDG737-800 installed on my 1.7ghz system with 512mem and a nVidia G4 4200Ti card with most slidders at 3/4th and my visibility set at 60 miles and I don't get any stutters in the turns at all clear, clouds etc. Check out the forum here on AVSIM about visibility settings, some good info.CheersBob
