Moving ans sizing skyline

Featured Replies

Hey all,I've been searching the forum for some information.I'm using fs9, and experience this anoying moving and sizing skylinewhen at high FLs.For instance, when above the sea, an island with mountains morethan 50nm away start drawing, depsite the visibility is set to no more than 32miles, FSUIPC registred version active with visibilitylimits correctly set, and the mountains is non-stop moving andsizing, which makes very unrealisitc view.is there any known fix in any of the multiple *.cfg files thatI missed. I didnt have this issue before, butI know some encounter this.Any hep would be deeply appreciated.Regards,Arnaud Solvay, LFPG

If you have FSUIPC set up correctly then it cannot let you have a visbility greater than that set. I would guess that you have missed something in FSUIPC, probably the graduated visibility settings on the opposite page to the max vis setting menu. But you can also bring the vis down in the FS menu options. The other option is that you have an ATi card and have the fog options incorrectly set. If you search the forum you'll find the fix for that.Allcott

Dear Allcott,I indeed have an ATI card, quite newly. On the opposite FSUIPC page, I think it's correctly set.i'd rather have a look on the ATI topics.Maybe you remember what to do special with ATI cards?Regards,Arnaud Solvay, LFPG

So, Allcott,I've done what you smartly explain about FSUIPC.Strangely, I had sometime ago done same kind of settings, but couldnt remember how I did it (directly in the FSUIPC settings). Now, editing the .ini fime is much easier, thanks for your explanations.I have recovered my nice looking and realistic Skyline now. But, the mountain in the backyard are still moving a bit,but much less than before with the new visibility settings.I think I'm done. Thanks to you also because I went into the ATI settings andfound out that it was set in direct3d at bilinear only, and with trilinear I get an even better image quality!Regards,Arnaud, LFPGAI aardvark addicted

Glad to be of help! I don't currently have a ATI card, but if I remember corectly, it had something to do with enabling or disabling `table fog` in the driver control panel. Hopefully a current owner might be able to fill in the blanks!Allcott
