Evening all,

I hope someone might be able to shed some light on a little problem I am having. I am unable to do a DCT TO on the Garmin 400....has anyone else exprierenced this? I typically fly this as a /A (VOR to VOR), but ATC (VATSIM) gave me a DCT TO VOR outside the service volume. When I went to the DCT TO function, it was highlighted but I was unable to select anything....the cursor just kept moving down.....was unable to get any letters.

Any ideas?

Same problem here. The reason is (I think) that it is not possible to select a way point with Direct To if a flight plan has been loaded.

I did try it withe the MS tutorial and with the Garmin GPS 400 Pilot's Guide and Reference.

 

Carenado Support: is this a bug or do we something wrong?

Well, did find a method myself:

If Flightplan:

Little knob activate cursor

Little knob Scroll through list (first +/-)

Menu

Activate? > Enter

Hi Frans,

I use exactly your work around you mentioned; this works perfect if the waypoint is on the flight plan. However, if you need to add a DCT to for a waypoint that is not on the flight plan (this is what happened), no joy. I am attempting to swap out the 400 or add another window to bring up the default GPS......hopefully this will correct it.

No problem here:

 

(To be sure, start with CLR for 3 seconds)

Direct To

Click Direct To

If no cursor blinking, click in the middle of the small knob with PUSH CRSR (not + or -) to get cursor

Scroll with your mouse wheel

Enter waypoint with keyboard.

Enter > Activate > Enter
