  1. Greetings. I am hoping someone might be able to assist me with the AP/FMS.....having some difficulties. Here are 2 scenarios I hope someone can clear up for me. Flight is from KEWY to KMIA KEWY-CARNU-DVALL1 (DVALL-WEVER-FAMIN-DHP)-KMIA CRZ ALT FL210. ATC gives initial alt 7.0 and RWY HDG then to expect FL210 in 10. 1) Set 7.0 in FMS WayPoint CARNU. All others to FL210 2) HDG set 090 3) Take off and hand fly to 1500 AGL and engage AP VLOC, select HDG and ALT; ac happily climbs to 7.0 and OBS HDG. 4) ATC clears dct CARNU and up to FL210. 5) Engage GPS/NAV and ac turns to CARNU. 6) Enter 21000 into FMS and ac climbs to FL210. Is this the correct way of doing this or am I making it difficult. Scenario 2 AC established on route GPS/NAV at FL210.enroute to WP CARNU. ATC clears me DCT FAMIN (4 WP's away). I am able to change the routing in the GPS to DCT FAMIN, but the FMS still flies on to CARNU. Any ideas? I am really liking this aircraft but after a beer or two, the navigation gets a bit difficult  Many thanks. Gmac
  2. Morning Flighto, I dont know if you can change Vne, but typically what I do is slow to Va if penetrating weather. Cheers, Gmac
  3. Pierre I also am having problems with the WX radar.....it worked prior but now the entire screen is just black; all other parameters of the Avidyne seem to be working fine. It is dark both in VC and 2D. cheers, Gmac
  4. Hi Frans, I use exactly your work around you mentioned; this works perfect if the waypoint is on the flight plan. However, if you need to add a DCT to for a waypoint that is not on the flight plan (this is what happened), no joy. I am attempting to swap out the 400 or add another window to bring up the default GPS......hopefully this will correct it. Cheers, Greg
  5. Evening all, I hope someone might be able to shed some light on a little problem I am having. I am unable to do a DCT TO on the Garmin 400....has anyone else exprierenced this? I typically fly this as a /A (VOR to VOR), but ATC (VATSIM) gave me a DCT TO VOR outside the service volume. When I went to the DCT TO function, it was highlighted but I was unable to select anything....the cursor just kept moving down.....was unable to get any letters. Any ideas? Cheers, Gmac
  6. Keep to blue line till the threshold, bring to idle and it settles nicely when the ground effect diminishes. Gmac
  7. Brent, I understand your frustrations after reading some of these comments....it's easy for people to be critical but difficult to show praise. In the past I have been hesitant to purchase Carenado aircraft due to the numerous bugs. However, my concerns are greatly alleviated knowing that you have worked on the FDE and are very active in the refinement of the after market upgrades. I hope that you reconsider leaving this community; it would be a tremendous loss for all. We have lost a lot of good folks that improved many aircraft due to the negativity expressed on the projects......I hope you are not next in line. I have had the honor and privilege of using your enhancements and FDE's (along with email support pertaining to several other aircraft improvements) and I hope to do so with future releases. It's human nature to be critical and if done in a mature and constructive way, improvement can come. We all need to take a step back and a deep breath before throwing stones. We should consider ourselves lucky to have Bernt around......consider the opposite scenario. As a matter of fact, I purchesed the C90 knowing you were involved and I would not be disappointed......I can say unequivocally that I am not. Thanks again Bernt for your continued support! Gmac
  8. Thanks Barnstomer. I changed the numbers and its starting to look alot better. However, when I turn on the flood lights, its so bright on the panel....any way to dim or is this a texture file?Cheers,Gmac
  9. Many thanks Icon for starting the thread and thanks to barnstormer for the fix......wondering the same thing and corrected the windscreen now. BTW.....I also would be interested in the night VC file. I have changed the lighting from red to white, but when the flood light switch is on, its just to bright IMHO; unfortunately, turning the flood light off is to dark. A happy median would be perfect.Cheers,Gmac
  10. Just had a chance to try out the new mod......excellent job guys. The traffic add-on is defiantly a plus....especially the trend dots! The GPS ETE and VOR/DME selections really complete the gauge. In the short time that I have tested it, it works as promised and with no discernible hick ups. Both you guys deserve a couple of cold ones for your continued improvement of this gauge.Cheers, gmac
  11. Thanks again Cool. I will keep messing around with it.....was thinking the same thing of doing the direct to. BTW....have bilksimpie's mods and they are excellent!!Cheers,Gmac
  12. Thanks Cool. One more quick question. I have a GPS route (enroute) active and ATC give me RV for the GPS approach. I ask for a RV to the IAF and ATC gives me the vector. I then select the corresponding GPS approach, but a few of the enroute fixes still show active. How do I move down the flight plan and select the IAF and then fly the approach. What seems to be happening is the AP will "back track" to the "enroute" fixes and then to the IAF.Gmac
  13. Good morning,I was wondering if its possible to do a RNAV/GPS approach using the stock Carenado GPS installed? I know you can select some approaches using the 430 (out of date which is no problem), but how do you set the AP to continue with a selected GPS RWY28 (for example) approach?ThanksGmac
  14. Thanks Tee.....works like a charm.Cheers.
  15. Morning, I must be missing something, because I cannot find the switch to turn on/off the dome lights. The only way I can turn them on or off is by hitting the L button turning all lights on/off.Any ideas?Cheers,Gmac
  16. I did. Re-downloaded the update and had the exe run into a new folder on my desktop. Open this new desktop file and scroll to the panel folder; copy the panel config file and info file and put them in the panel folder of the Malibu. MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP THE CONFIG FILE AND INFO THAT ARE IN THE MALIBU PANEL FOLDER PRIOR TO THIS!!! It seemed to solve it for me as it is working fine now.Gmac
  17. Glad I could help! Cheers,Gmac
  18. Hi DM,I did swap out with a new mouse, still no joy on the AVSS. Yes, I did get the pressurization to work....a hand comes over the knob and I push and hold a mouse button and drag across the screen and it will turn. Funny thing, I have to do this on the C340 pressurization knob also.I do have a registered copy of FSUIPC....let me double check that....thanks for the idea! However....I think I might have narrowed it down. I was using Wheelcam and uninstalled it I was unable to use the mouse to select/change knob settings as this would move my POV. Any ideas on how to "revert" back to normal? cheers,Gmac
  19. See post below....post removed due to double submital.
  20. Many thanks guys for clearing up the beacon issue; I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks LOL.Still no joy on the increase/decrease the VS on the AP or the AVSS....moving the the mouse over the knobs shows a hand but no plus or minus signs. When I use the mouse wheel, a cockpit tool bar comes up that says "Knob AP Sel" but will not change anything; maybe my mouse wheel is calibrated wrong? The knob on the PFD works perfect. Thanks again guys for the assistance!Cheers,Greg
  21. Hi Delta....sorry for the difficulties you are having....I have done this so many times its almost habit and its tough to write down....a little like a receipe LOL. I used this website to learn how to change the reg number and do repaints.....they do an excellent job on the description unlike mine LOL. http://www.calclassic.com/repaint.htmOn a side note, number 6 above should be reload the alpha and save. Then start FSX and you should see the paint. For 2) Make sure that you send the alpha to editor (should open in a new window).....dont close......just leave the window on the side as you will need this later for step 6Let me know if you are having difficulties and if worse case, send me a PM with your email, livery you would like changed and Reg number. I will change the reg number for you but please remember that you cannot redistrbute the new paint.Cheers,Gmac
  22. Hi Delta....you need a program like DXTBmp from MW Graphics. 1) Open DXTBmp and open the file you wish to change.....MAKE A BACKUP OF THE ORIGINAL.2) Send the alpha channel to editor (you might have to set in DXTBmp your paint program so it goes to editor). Do NOT close DXTBmp....minimize it as you will need again.3) Send the file to editor. Your paint program should open now....paint away.4) Save the file 5) Go back to the DXT program and hit reload after edit....your new reg number should be there.6) Reload the alpha channel and then save and rewrite. 7) Start FSX and you should see your new paint.Cheers,Greg
  23. First off, I have to say hats off to Carenado. I haven't had the opportunity to test it out alot yet, but what I have been able to do, I have to say well done....espcially the night lighting in the VC.....unbelievable!I have noticed a few items; maybe its just me but wondering if anyone else is expierencing these:1) Beacon light....cant seem to find one on the model (even selecting L) or on the checklist. Been awhile since I flew IRW, but I always thought that the beacon was required for an aircraft (excluding experimental) per the FAR's anytime an engine is in operation.2) I cannot decrease/increase the VS on either the AP or the AVSS as detailed in the manual. The PFD knob works though.3) Pressurization setting....cannot turn the cruise alt for the auto pressurizationCheers,Gmac
  24. Sorry Bert.....your absolutly right....no yellow arc hence no Vno.Gmac
  25. Morning Scott,I think IRW the Vne is 203KTS and the Vno is 172 (only to be exceeded in smooth air)......could be wrong though.Sorry.....a little late on the reply....looks like Joe cleared it up.....Vne is 172.
