May 6, 201214 yr Hello all, Well, I uninstalled FSX , and the PMDG 737ngx and FSUIPC4 today as I was experiencing pauses (freeze ups) every couple of minutes or so. I'm running an I5 and have W7 64 bit with 8G memory. I have A GEF 250 with 1G memory on it. I have all sliders to the left. (Can't turn them down anymore.) I reiinstalled FSX no problems along with the two service packs, following the PMDG instructions on their website. Tested with the default 738 and was getting 150+ fps and no pauses. Installed FSUIPC4 and the very same results. Next I reinstall the PMDG738 and also s1b. This was when I began to wonder if I had really executed a clean uninstall, as it never asked me for my license number when I re installed it and Sp1b said I was already updated to the latest version. (I re installed it anyways) hmmm... The test flight didn not go well, as the pauses came back. My fps are between 20 and 40 and I have every slider option to zero(far left). Sometimes during a pause a white box will flash ..saying loading complete. I'm pretty sure when I first installed this aircraft I didn't experience any pauses. The only addons I have are FSUIPC4 and the NGX. My resolution is set ar 1024x768, which is far from the highest. Any ideas how to fix these pauses would be greatly appreciated. If indeed I have a corrupted ngx file, how do I completely un install the bird, as it appears I din't do it properly ? perhaps my setup isn't powerful enough to run the ngx, but I should think it would be with all sliders off. May 6, 201214 yr There is some issue with FSUIPC saving stuff, causing pauses. Don't remember what is was though... Bert Van Bulck
May 6, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the reply Bert, Well, that's another thing I can try, remove FSUIPC4 and see if it makes a difference. Something is definitly accessing the hd, either loading or saving or whatever. I'm going to try removing the ngx, but this time with the installer, rather than the add/remove programs on W7. May 6, 201214 yr Author Bert, You jogged my memory on that one. I do have the autosave feature turned on in FSUIPC4. That could possibly be the culprit. Will get back to you on that. Thanks Ed Burton www.737ngxca.com
May 6, 201214 yr Author Hi again Bert, I do believe shutting off FSUIPC4 autosave solved the issue. Just flew for 10 minutes with no freezes whatsoever. Thanks so much for your suggestion. Ed Burton www.737ngxca.com
