  1. What's wrong with using an autopilot for a circling approach? Bert Van Bulck There are a few options to get out of APP mode: recycle Flight Directors, change beacon frequency etc. But LOWI doesn't have an ILS (although FSX shows it). FLy it LNAV/VNAV or VOR LOC/VERT SPEED. That will prevent it from following the "ILS" and flying through MDA. Bert Van Bulck
  2. You can expect both published and vectors. If you receive vectors and when it's possible, nice ATC will let you fly runway heading, give an altitude and ask you to contact them for further instructions when the workload in your cockpit has dropped a bit. Best Regards, Bert Van Bulck
  3. Subscribe to IVAO or VATSIM. They have route databases, charts and will explain you everything you need to know about it. It's free. Bert Van Bulck
  4. It's a sim: "When sneezing hit "P" first" BR Bert Van Bulck
  5. That 757 was completely empty. Probably picking up tourists to get back home. Bert Van Bulck
  6. I don't want to put words in your mouth, so can you elaborate on that please? Bert Van Bulck
  7. Hi, Everything about landing attitudes is shown in the Flight Crew Training Manual. Have a look at Page 6.11 and further. Vref + 20 is a serious wind correction. At that speed, you should have a very low pitch attitude. According to the FCTM, your pitch attitude should be -2° to 0°. Are you sure your flaps are really at 30? Maybe you come in a bit too low and start the flare maneuvre too soon? How long are you flaring? What is your touchdown speed? What is your vertical speed at the threshold and just before touching? Try once to fly the plane at Vref+5 almost completely to the ground without flaring to get the feel of it. Bert Van Bulck
  8. I use only the -800 but never have to correct pitch in such manner. Sure everything is calibrated well? Bert Van Bulck
  9. Off course you can print that. Bert Van Bulck
  10. I'm probably going to get burned heavily now but anyway :) Isn't 512 the DA (Decision Altitude) = 200 DH (decision Height) + 312' TDZ elevation? Isn't MDA (Minimum Descent Altitude) for a NPA (Non Precision Appraoch): the GP Inop (or LOC) Approach or Circling Approach in this case? The people who desing these procedures don't give a rats' &@($* about what you are using to determine your altitude, as long as you'r not violating your minima. It depends on the ACFT, operator and kind of approach what you use. When looking into the Flight Manual of a certain operator, you need to have Radio Altimeter (two) for a CatII ILS landing and beyond but non (zero) for an ILS CATI approach. Best Regards, Bert Van Bulck
  11. Read The Friendly Manual: PMDG-737NGX-Introduction, page 0.00.34 Bert Van Bulck
  12. Possible? Maybe on a very long runway. No operator would allow that however. Can you imagine the legal consequences if the ACFT crashes.... Bert Van Bulck
  13. Do you also have this problem (autobrake disengage) after landing? If yes, you might have pots in the CH pedals that are spiking, or even a wire with a bad contact. I have the same ones, you know.... Bert Van Bulck
  14. And still no one here was able to answer the (valid) question: "When will it disconnect?" -> How much off the glideslope, LLZ, speed,...? Bert Van Bulck
  15. On final (to put it simpel), you should set your altitude to the Missed Approach altitude. I cannot see any situation where you set the altitude to 0 on the MCP.... Bert Van Bulck
  16. Sure!! Boeing will make an aircraft that won't brake consistently when applying manual braking. Even on top of that, that ACFT will become more difficult to control when hitting the brakes. It's a loose cannon! My god man, If I read your comment, you might as well try to throw an anchor out of the window to stop the plane and hope you don' t put a couple of terminals on fire!!! Bert Van Bulck P.S.: try to READ what the site says: it's MORE then 3000 psi...
  17. FSX comes standard with the G-force effect. You just have to put them on in some menu. Bert Van Bulck
  18. Not so according to this site.... http://www.b737.org.uk/landinggear.htm Bert Van Bulck
  19. First point of your route should be the end of the SID. Last point of your rout should be the start of the STAR. Sometimes you also need a transition. Bert Van Bulck
  20. Good one: thank you! Bert Van Bulck
  21. Hi, There is also a diffenrence in behaviour during RTO according to the speed. for the brakes: FCOM2 p. 14.20.4/14.10.4 And for the speed brakes: FCOM2 p.9.20.17/9.10.0 Bert Van Bulck
  22. Always on, also on the ground. Don't turn anything off at 400 feet, concentrate on the approach :) Bert Van Bulck
  23. Nothing compared to the cost of a 737 with 150 POB. ATPL training costs about 85k EUR in Europe, payed by the pilot if they don't have a special agreement. The airline pays for the type-rating. Bert Van Bulck
  24. He would get his &@($* fired, for sure! Question: max tire speed is 195 kts. I believe that, but what is the approach speed during a flapless landing? Bert Van Bulck
  25. When I was controlling on IVAO, I thought it increased the fun when people were going around. Tell those guys on VATSIM to raise their level :) Best Regards, Bert Van Bulck
