Is there some logic on the 737-800 ngx fail-operational land3 autoland that makes it disconnect if there is too much drift from the ils on the final or for example coming in too fast/slow due wind shear or in other cases making the approach unstable? I played around yesterday putting some heavy weather to my sim using Activesky 2012. I set up crosswin of 25-30kts, heavy windshear and turbulence just to see how the autoland handles it. Though a bumpy ride, the approach went pretty good but about 200ft agl there was heavy change in windspeed increasing my ias from desired 142 to 158, soon after the LAND3 mode disconnected and I ended up flying the plane manually.. Any explanation for this? I always thought that after LAND3 has engaged its (almost) impossible to get it disconnected the only method being pulling the A/P disconnect bar or pushing TO/GA switch.. Thanks!

Hello, I don't really know where to post this, as I have no idea of where it can come from, I hope someone had this issue before and can guide me... The issue I have is with surface winds: let's say I pick up any airport with a pure north-oriented runway, and I setup crazy crosswinds at 90º (by crazy I mean 75kts, this is how far I've come to check this). When I take off from the runway no wind drift happens AT ALL, I mean zero, until I climb and reach 1000ft or so, then a sudden drift does happen according to the wind setting. Then I turn around and prepare the approach for the same runway: the wind keeps affecting the plane all the time, I capture the loc and the AP needs to make a huge correction due to the wind but, as soon as I reach about 1000ft above ground, disengaging AP or not, the wind begins to gradually disappear, resulting in a perfectly aligned airplane to the runway a few hundred feet above ground, as if there was no wind at all. I don't even need to touch the rudder control, as I'm forced to turn into the runway heading as I approach the ground and the wind "effect" ceases (otherwise I'd land in the grass). I thought for a while that it could be some FSX limitation, but then I see videos like this one, where there is a crosswind effect on final, and I bet not at 75kts... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox0ZVavJlD0 I hope someone can point me to the right direction, thank you! Relevant considerations: - I've tried this with many default aircraft, plus addons - It happens in all airports, and in all runway directions - It doesn't matter if I configure the wind with FSX tool or with ASN Relevant addons: - ActiveSky Next - Accufeel - PMDG 737NGX - ORBX Global + Vector + OpenLC Europe

Just picked up these bad boys! First of all, a little background... A few years back, I had a set of CH Pedals. I used them for IL2 and WWIIOnline. I thought they were "OK", but too close together and a bit...clunky. Eventually I sold them and about 3 years ago I got heavily into DCS World (The A-10c to be specific) and I bought a set of Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. I liked the size and width a lot better than the CH and they felt more substantial being metal pedals (went nice with my Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog ) but the downsides were they were freezing in the winter when flying in socks and again, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were...clunky. After about a year, I sold those too. Around six months ago, I got back into simming (FSX) and while I still had my Warthog, I didn't have a set of pedals. I had planned to buy another set of Saitek Combats or Saitek Cessnas (being that the only difference is the pedals themselves.) until I came across the MFG Crosswinds. Admittedly, they aren't cheap (they cost as much as the Warthog) but I started to see rave reviews about them on various forums. I sent Milan (the guy who makes them in Croatia) an email and he told me he was back ordered until March 2015 but I could put my name down for a preorder. I'm not normally the patient type, but I wanted a set of Rudder Pedals of the same quality as the Warthog and something that would last me just as long. After what seemed like an age of waiting, I got an email earlier this week to say my pedals were ready to be sent! I've literally just got back from picking the package up, assembled the pedals (a very easy and quick process) plugged them in, quick calibration and flew a circuit in the RealAir Turbine Duke V2. I have to say, they're absolutely amazing. The build quality is great, there's a nice weight to them (I did a bit of research and discovered they're made from a material called HPL) and there are a ton of options for adjusting the spring tension, angle of the pedals, foot brake tension. There's also an option to swap out the 'cam profile' which affects how much of a centre detent you experience. I opted for CAM5 which is basically zero centre detent. They're incredibly smooth and no noise. And the 'clunkiness' of my previous pedals is completely eliminated from the Crosswinds. Apologies for the crappy cell-phone pics. Milan mentioned a few months back that he may change the white colour to more of a grey but that he would create a small batch of pure white for anyone who wanted that option. So I got a set of the pure white ones...I just love that two tone white and black I can't think why.... ^_^ Feel free to ask me any questions!
