AI traffic or no?

Featured Replies

I have a love hate relationship with AI.. I love it for approaches and take offs as it adds atmosphere but hate it for the awful ATC.

That's what I think, too. Just yesterday I happened to listen this conversation during a flight over the Whidbey Island: "Whidbey Approach, Baron XYZ is two miles north of Whidbey, requests IFR flightplan to Kilo-Foxtrot-Hotel-Romeo." I must add, that the weather was nice, very high visibility, so no need to fly IFR. But what happened next is even funnier: ATC found him at 5000ft and requested him to climb and maintain 9000 which I guess he could've never reached on that short trip.

Another thing that annoys me is the "XYZ, Hold position, caution ... on the taxiway", and the distance the planes keep behind me though they taxi very close behind each other.

And the last thing I really don't like at AI traffic is that you sometimes lose nearly half an hour on rather small airports, due to lots of traffic having to take off and land on only one runway.

But AI really adds some atmosphere, and it's alsways good if you're looking for someting funny to happen (e.g. having a dash8-100 flying right through your a330 on final approach, while you're already cleared to land).
