May 8, 201214 yr I am at a critical stage of my new computer build – that is, ready to install Windows 7. I have a Caviar Black 1TB drive and a just purchased Crucial 256 GB m4 SSD. From a post I made yesterday, it was suggested that I put Windows 7 on the Caviar Black and FSX on the SSD. Since I am a fairly inexperienced hardware guy, I appreciate and don’t question the guidance to not put both Windows 7 and FSX on the SSD. But it would be of help to me to understand why, since there is certainly room on the SSD for both. I expect there is good reason. It would be of help if someone could explain why. Thank You in Advance
May 8, 201214 yr Keep in mind that the OS partition gets filled overtime with Installers (Windows/Installers), downloaded Installations (windows/downloaded Installations), downloaded program files (windows/downloaded program files), program data, app data, restoration points, crash dumps, windows updates, logs and many things that can make it grow a lot very fast. Also by default you will have all My Documents, temporary folders and paging file there. You can tweak the OS and have both the OS and FSX in a 256GB SSD if you want to
