Piper Archer II - Which is best DreamFleet or Carenado ?

Featured Replies

Hi GuysI'm looking to buy one of the above but can't make my mind up which one to go for. The Dreamfleet certainly looks good but i can't determine from their web-site whether the VC is completely interactive (that's where i intend to spend all of my time), it mentions "click-spots" but not specifically "interactive". The Carenado is definitely interactive but their site doesn't give any decent VC screen shots.Any help making my mind up would be much appreciatedRegardsGary

I have both aircraft and the have their pros and cons. Overall, I like the Carenado Archer better because of the VC and excellent interior/exterior textures. The Dreamfleet archer is also very good but it is slightly older and the VC does not give a very good sense of immersion. The 2d panel in the Dreamfleet is very good though.Hope this helps.:)

I would have to say they are about the same. I train in a Piper Warrior II, and the flight characteristics of both planes are pretty much dead on with the real thing. However, the Dreamfleet Archer seems to be a bit sluggish during the intitial climd after departure. If you guys want, I can post some pics of both planes over at the screenshot forums.

Carenado has the best external model--they are known for it. Dreamfleet has the best 2D panel. Both flight models feel dated to me. Neither one has the precise control over yaw and slip that Steve Young and others have introduced into the genre. If I had to choose one, it would be the DF by a narrow margin.
