May 3, 200422 yr First of all I want to make clear that I am not blaming FS Sky World for the problems that I am having.Just as a note remember my FS is 2002.Some days ago I decided I was going to give another shot to FS Sky World since I am always flying online and therefore my PC performance is not affected anymore by AI Traffic. I was installing the coulds and by mistake I used the autoinstall feature. Although I have to say that the clouds, sunsets, lights and sky in general look beautiful, this created a problem that I haven't been able to solve. My PC is a little old HP with 1 Gig processor and 256 MB Ram, and with all these things installed of course I get some sttutering, but the main problem is that as soon as I press the W key to have a full view of the sky or I Spot the plane when it is flying, the stuttering, for some reason I don't understand, shuts down my dial up connection. Since I use Active Sky Wrxe, this means a problem since I have to go and connect again, but like I said before I fly only online, and getting diconnected means that I have to get reconnected into Vatsim, which is a problem that really sucks, not only because I have to do the whole process of connection once again, but also because it is a pain in the neck for the controllers and other traffic to see me appear and disappear several times.I tried to get back to my old, ugly but efficient, clouds, but although I installed all the FS2002 default clouds that come in the Sky World package but the results are the same. Beautiful sights and my connection being shut down.I have ordered another 256 Ram to install them in my PC and then have 512 Mb, but I really doubt this will solve the problem. So my options as I see them are:1. I wait for the Ram to arrive, install it and cross my fingers2. Reinstall FS2002 (something I did some months ago when I had the same problem, and once the default clouds were back all this stuttering and getting disconnected problems dissapeared)3. That some one tells me how to uninstall all what FS Sky world installed without uninstalling FS2002.4. That some one comes with something I haven't thought about. Please help me!!!!Thanks,Leo
May 3, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, You probably have the old version of fs sky world se ? the default clouds are in fs sky world se v2.4 and fs sky world v2,4 is installed outside the fs2002 directory and to uninstall you go to add and remove or click uninstall. fs sky world se do not need dial up connection it`s not related to this.fs sky world se v2.4http://fsw.simflight.com/FSkySe.html-About the stutter reduce your clouds density slider to 50%. -I was using fs2002 with a 700Mghz and 512 ram,gforce2 never saw stutter with it.-To uninstall the older version of fs sky world se, it's in your readme, if I remember only delete the fs sky world folder and fs sky world.exe that's reside in fs2002 folder.About the LRCCBSE, I will re upload them to my web site and avsim. since there is been some new clouds added to v2.4 I have to resize the new added in v2.4 near 15 set.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
May 3, 200422 yr Chris,Thanks for your fast answer.I don't know which version of Sky World I have. Maybe it is the old one, since there isn't any uninstall feature for clouds. Probably will check the web and get the new one in the case I have the old one.I know I don't need to be connected to use it, but the problem is that I need to be connected to use Vatsim and for some reason my connection gets killed because of the stuttering produced by the clouds textures. My clouds slider is always at 10% (performance purpose). So the question is:If I uninstall the version I have, will the clouds and other textures that the program installed in my FS folder get uninstalled too, leaving only the default clouds? Thanks,Leo
May 3, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Loe, "My clouds slider is always at 10%`"what's its your video cards? at 10% is way to low, a 64 meg cards can run it ay 80% without problems.Your latest texture installed with fs sky world will remain in fs2002 texture, download fs sky world se v2.4 and install the fs2002 default clouds from fs sky world se 2.4.About the LRCCBSE, I will re upload them to my web site and avsim. since there is been some new clouds added to v2.4 I have to resize the new added in v2.4 near 15 set, they have better fps then default fs2002 clouds.RegardsChrisThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
May 3, 200422 yr Chirs:Thanks for your support. My video card is Nvidia, wouldn't be able to tell you which one. It is quite new since I installed it about a year ago. 10% is good enough for me, I get a lot of clouds anyway. It is possible that you send the LRCCBSE.zip to me? My e-mail is [email protected]. Please...I will download the new version of Sky World and try to fix the problem.Do you think that having 512 Mb Ram will allow me to use your program with no problems? I mean I wish I could use it since the skyes look really espactacular with your textures. Thanks,Leo
