May 16, 201214 yr Hello, I'm suffering two crucial issues that make flying in FSX somewhat awful. The first issue is that I'm suffering CTDs very often. It actually does not happen suddenly during the flight, but everytime I'm accessing the menu FSX crashes. For example, I was flying without any issue the other day when I accidentally pressed 1 in the ATC window and the menu for a new flight plan opened. Then I pressed cancel and FSX immediately crashed. The second issue is the frame rate. I can actually fly with pretty good fps, but as soon as I use a scenery for a big airport like FSDreamteam's New York JFK, the fps instantly drop and become awful. Today I was taxiing at New York JFK with the scenery by FSDreamteam, and the fps were really bad. Then, once airborne, something went incredibly wrong and the fps were THAT bad, I was actually watching a slide show. I have already tweaked my fsx.cfg with that online tool. It said everything is perfect except for the anti-aliasing that is turned on, but, seriously, with it turned off the textures look horrible. I am also using the external fps limiter and I'm actually getting good results. My system is: Intel Core i7 4x 3.4Ghz Windows 7 64bit 8GB of RAM GeForce GTX560 (1.2 GB) Any help would be more than appreciated...

May 16, 201214 yr Author Thanks for the reply. I tried to delete/move that file into the FSX main folder, but it says I do not have the permission required for that action, now I don't know how to get it. Any idea about the low fps?
May 16, 201214 yr FSX should be installed to a seperate drive, or folder, and not C:\PROGRAM FILES. Word Not Allowed's guide, and NickN"s, explain how to setup FSX for max FPS and smoothness. Dave
