Newbie with C47 radio question

Recommended Posts

Although I downloaded MAAM code years ago, I never got serious with it till now. I seem to have adopted the C47 "Sugar Blues". I've been trying to get the plane to fly VOR. Is this possible? My panel has the DME1 gauge from which I can set the VOR radial and a switch selecting "VOR/DME, "RNAV", or "APPR" This suggests to me this will follow a VOR radial and may even follow a glideslope. The needle on the VOR1 OBI does react to the chosen radial. I just can't figure out if it is supposed to work and how.It seems everything is there except the servos to make it work. I also would like to know what version of the code I have. How do I find it? Please help me guys Win Rodgers Atlanta

Win,

Sure you can use VOR to fly to or from a station but the DME instrument only shows you the distance. It will not track a radial or anything like that. You are the pilot, you do the flying. That's what the DC-3 is all about.

There's a lenghty discription of the DME instrument by Bill here if you like :
