Fs9.cfg not retaining changes

Featured Replies

Since deleting my fs9.cfg file to help with PMDG crashes, to desktop that is, most of the changes I make with the sliders are not retained and are reset to the default settings every time I start FS9. This is pretty tedious. If I manually edit the file the settings are retained but I only know the values for a few settings. Most of my display choices are lost apart from the actual resolution, the realism settings too.Any ideas folks?John

John,Only two reasons why FS9.CFG will not update AFAIK.1. If FS9 goes CTD on you. The FS9.CFG is updated on proper exit from FS92. Your FS9.CFG file is set to read onlyNumber 2 can't be right in your case as you say you've successfully manually edited it.Alan

The third reason is if you have .cfg files set to open with notepad. Then, it can appear the same in the menu system as the auto-backup file FS9.cfg.txt, held in the same folder.Check you're not editing the wrong file.Allcott
