100% CPU usage in forum topic

Whenever I enter a forum topic to read it my cpu usage pegs at 100%. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is doesn't occur when I'm one the main forum page or any sub forum topic list page. I done a disk clean, a browser clean, and turned of all browser addons, but it still occurs. I am on windows XP SP3, IE8, and an old IBM thinkpad with a 1.7 ghz centrino Pentium M and 2 gb of ram. I am trying to figure out if it is the forums causing this or something in my machine. It doesn't happen on other websites.
