May 10, 200422 yr Hey everyone. I am in dire need of help again. I need to reinstall FS9 but, from the CD, it must be first uninstalled. However, my efforts to uninstall, both via the Control Panel (Add/Remove Programs) and via the Uninstall option from the disks themselves, fail. I receive the standard "error report" message from Microsoft when I try from the program and nothing when I try from Add/Remove.Can someone tell me how to get FS9 on my system without necessarily removing every single add-on file I have currently???? Thanks in advance for the assistance all!Griz
May 10, 200422 yr You can't remove fs9 without removing all the addons. Remove all addons, uninstall fs9, then delete the directory. Then reinstall everything from scratch. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
May 10, 200422 yr You can delete the fs9.exe file and reinstall over the top of the existing installation. To deep clean your system you also need to remove all references to FS from your registry, but that isn't required for a reinstall. The only files that will be overwritten will be any original files that you have overwritten with aftermarket replacements.Or you can rename the fs9.exe to something else, then install a `vanilla` fs9 to a new location then simply move over the folders, giving you the chance to acept or refuse file or folder overwrites.Allcott
May 11, 200422 yr Thanks very much for the help. This did enable me to reinstall. Unfortunately, there appears to be something very wrong on my system. I'm not sure what, but the game quits mid-flight now and I'm experiencing all kinds of issues, although they mostly show up when running flight sim. Unfortunately, it is time for a reformat.
May 11, 200422 yr Thanks for the reply. Actually, you can remove FS without removing ad-ons. you do NOT select the option, during uninstall, to remove saved files, etc. I've done it before. Unfortunately, this time around, no matter what I did, nothing worked. I appreciate the help anyway. Take care.
