May 11, 200422 yr Is there anywhere I can find a flight dynamics upgrade to the default 777 in FS9? I have the wonderful default 747 flight dynamics upgrade available here on avsim but cannot find one for the beautiful triple 7.Thanks!
May 12, 200422 yr I don't think there is any, as far as I know. It is sad that an aircraft such as the 777 doesn't get the attention of freeware/payware developers, especially in the flight dynamics area. I'm still hoping that Project Opensky will do a Triple-7, even through they say they won't. I'm just stubborn that way :) ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
May 13, 200422 yr Hi,In the Avsim library...Filename: rd777fs9.zipAuthor: Touradg MorassaeiFile Description:This is an upgrade for 777-300 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 A Century of flight. This Upgrade provided according to the Boeing information about 777 and is very close to real dynamics of 777. Now like a real 777, it is hard to land this giant and you need to be more careful. Features include: Realistic Flight Dynamic (Try to land the aircraft with cross wind!!), Corrected Lights Position, Corrected Contact Points, Corrected Max Gross Weight, Corrected Autopilot Function, Corrected Flap-Up Stall Speed, Corrected Full Flap Stall Speed, Better Control When You Use Joystick.Cheers,Jim
May 13, 200422 yr THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!I thought I searched here and flightsim.com but I guess I didn't do it right... thanks again!!
May 14, 200422 yr Alex, I tried to find the default 747 upgrade you refered to in your post but could not find it. Do you have a file name I can look under? Thanks, Terry
May 14, 200422 yr Hello Terry,How about trying the following file. The flight model files are intended to be used by copying files over from the default 747-400. If you wanted to I'm sure you could just pick one of the flight models and install it into the default 'b747_400' rather than use hthe author's installation method of copying files over, assuming you know how to do it. If you use his installation instructions, as a finale he says you can delete your default 'b747_400' folder if you want to. I recommend that you do not that, because who knows what you might install at some point that expects to be able to 'alias' to the default 'b747_400' sound or panel folder. For instance, a few MyTraffic2004 aircraft alias to a few of the default FS2004 aircraft panels and sounds and outright uses a couple of default FS2004 aircraft as AI planes. I believe this is the same author that made updated FS2004 flight dynamics for the Project Mach 2 Concorde.Filename: fd744ae.zipAuthor: Pedro OliveiraFile Description:Flight Dynamics for Boeing 747-400 and 747-400ER with GE-CF6 and PW4062 engines (v7.2), including a more accurate LOC interception while on VOR or ILS tracking.Hope that helps,Jim
May 14, 200422 yr Jim,Thanks and I will give this one a try.fd744ae.zipI did notice the 777 now goes over gross weight if the tanks are filled and it seems like the pass/cargo is very limited. Of course I did not save the original settings so I will have to go to the cd and try to reload them.Terry
May 15, 200422 yr Hi Terry,I don't have a cut and dry solution for you, although it seems you have already come up with one. Get original 777 FD's off the CD. Personally I think I'd rather have more realistic flight dynamics. At least as long as I can carry around 66% of fuel capacity without going overweight. I want to let you know a few of things.1) It is very possible that Pedro Oliveira found that in order to get the 777 to behave as close to real-world 777 as he could that he had to make a compromise in the area of weight settings(compromising a full fuel load).2) I have a couple of payware aircraft that have this same problem, as well as some freeware aircraft.3) Sometimes I just ignore the 'over gross weight' and take-off overweight. Depends on how long the runway is at the airport I'm at and/or how long of a flight I plan on making. ;)Regards,Jim
