Problem with ai smooth and ai seperation

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Got a small problem. Somehow something has changed and instead of the airline id showing for instance 'Easy' for Easyjet i now get airbus IZT instead. Does anyone know how I can get these to read the correct information again. Doesn't stop me flying etc just niggles, you know

example below:

Your screen shot is perhaps from Traffic Look or Traffic Explorer?. Either way you are showing ground conditions.

First insure you are using the current version of fsuipc3 from here:

and if you using Traffic Look you must now use the version here:

Check for any options in your traffic display whether to show type/tail numbers or flight numbers (radio calls).

I don't recall if there is a setting in FS itself whether to choose this in the ai settings. There might be a setting in the newer FSUIPC, not sure.

Have you changed your traffic application and/or ai models by any chance? In FSX using Ultimate Traffic 2, aircraft type/tail numbers are used until I believe CD and ground have been contacted at which time the airline is assigned at start of taxi. Maybe you have installed something regarding ai traffic applications? I use the old classic Ultimate Traffic 2007 for FS9, of course, which operates differently than the FSX only version UT2.

I use AI smooth 1.2 and have never seen this. There are options in AIS regarding traffic messages and speech that should be disabled. Perhaps if enabled AIS does something.

I only used AI Sep. briefly.

Thanks I will install the new stuff have been experiencing CTD recently, hopefully this will resolve the issue :Just Kidding:

If I understand correctly, the easiest way to fix the problem is to go to Settings and click on Traffic. The Traffic page has a section of options for Aircraft Labels. Put a check mark in "Show Aircraft Labels" and check the options you want. Choices include Manufacturer, Model, Tail number, Distance and Altitude.

I believe there may be more options if you want to edit the FS9.cfg file.

Give it a try and let us know if it helped.

Regards,

JerryH
