June 6, 201213 yr Hi, until today I have been using RCv4.3 without problem. When I tried to run RC it tried to run another program I have, namely "Roxio Creator Starter". Both have been installed for a while and neither are new installs. I now cannot run RC due to this problem, even after uninstalling and reinstalling I have the same problem. Has anyone else had anything like this and if so, how do I stop it? When I click on the RC icon, instead of running RC it tries to start the Roxio program which leads to a error message but in the background RC is running but unusable. Any advise would be great. Thanks Willie G
June 6, 201213 yr It could be a file extension association error. Roxio registers some of those associations in Windows. First check the properties for the RC icon for the .exe and target folder paths. If correct and Roxio did not mess with those then check for extension affiliation. Open a folder using explorer. In XP you have Tools which you click and then click folder options. Then click the file types tab. Look for the .rcd and .rc4 extensions if present and check the applications associated with them. That's all that comes to my mind. Another tool for you to check is right after this happens to go to Control Panel and get into administrator tools. Start up the event viewer. It is in time order with the most recent event first. There might be a trace of what happened in there. I'm thinking there can be a conflict with the Roxio Creator module thart might use a similar extension possibly for saving Roxio projects.
