May 14, 200422 yr I haven't used many flight planners outside of FS9's built in, FSBuild freeware, and Super flight planner - but I'm looking for something meatier! What I want in my flight planner:1.) The ability to auto-generate a realistic real-world route between departure and destination optionally using SIDS/STARS and Jet routes, V-routes, or navaid to navaid.2.) Output in various formats which could be converted to load into things like PMDGs FMC, FS9s flight planner, etc. This is the one I have trouble with:3.) A map-based interface which would allow me to click on an airport or navaid and drag it into my flight plan.4.) In lieu of that, a *SIMPLE* way to create a flight plan from scratch or edit an auto-generated one.Is there one out there that fits the bill? Thanks!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
May 14, 200422 yr HI,http://www.fsnavigator.com/ which is a reference will meet most of your expectations.
May 14, 200422 yr FSNAVIGATOR does all that, plus much more. In fact the only thing it doesn't do which I'd like to see, is the ability to filter airports based on runway length.Even without that, it's top notch- it even reads all your scenery files, shows ATC zones, taxiways, and everything else including mountains. It will auto-generate routes using high/low airways, SIDs,STARs, and fuel predications based on your airplane (might have to be configured for some less known planes). Obviously, it's all drag and drop. I just used it to plan my 29,000 mile round-the-world flight in the PMDG 800. Just kept adding airports, and it calculates the stops and everything! It exports to FS9 and a few other things (It runs in FS9 by the way- press F9 to switch to it). It also shows your plane in real-time and has a built in FMC which will follow your route if you want (I use the one in the 800 obviously).
May 14, 200422 yr Thanks for the replies! I had no idea FSNav had the drag and drop editing capability...I'll definately check that out. Can it run outside of FS?Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
