I noticed after takeoff today, that even though I had a strong crosswind from the left, when looking at the ND, the plane appeared to be crabbing right, away from the wind.

 

Am I reading the ND wrong? I had the AP on HDG SEL and set to 118 and the ND was reading 122 despite the strong crosswind from 080.

If you've got track-up display installed, in MAP or MAP CTR modes track (the line which airpalne flies) is shown on the bottom. Small triangle shows heading (direction where does nose turned). In other ND modes it's contrariwise.

Open FCOM 10.11.36 and 10.41.4.

 

If the wind blowing from the left, track will be the same as runway course and heading will be turned to the left.

If it doesn't help, post a screenshot.
