June 17, 201213 yr I think I remember seeing a pretty good freeware DeHavilland Comet (the jetliner, not the racing plane) somewhere. I think it even had an F/E panel. Does anybody know what I'm talking about and where I could find it? Thanks, boeing247 -Bram Osterhout

June 17, 201213 yr It is more functional than the Just Flight one in terms of realism, and if you don't like the graphical look of JF's Comet then it is the other option. Personally, I can live with the JF Comet even though I'm not exactly thrilled with its interior looks, which some have described as 'cartoonish' which is not really my complaint, I just think it is far too bright in there, which doesn't convey the way a real Comet's cockpit is - all those old aircraft are really dark and dingy when you sit in their cockpits, and they really do look like period pieces, which just does not come across well in the JF comet's VC rendering. The JF one is reasonably accurate in most respects though, although the autopilot on the David Maltby one is a more accurate representation of exactly how it works. You could probably do a merge of them using some of the DM panels and get the best of both worlds. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 17, 201213 yr Author Okay, thanks! By the way, is the installation into FSX (since it's FS9-native) self-explanatory, or is there anything tricky? -Bram Osterhout
June 17, 201213 yr So long since I've used it that I honestly could not tell you, because I simply don't recall. If it crashes though, it'll be a gauge which is causing it. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
