June 18, 201213 yr Hey everyone... Fixing to board the Prepar3d band wagon, but had a request first. I see in their preview shots Norfolk, VA, and it looks beautiful in their previews. Was wondering if someone could take screens of the area, particularly over by Norfolk Naval Station (airfield & helicopter pads by the tunnel) since they are not shown anywhere. I have been working on fixing this stuff in FSX, but if the rest of Norfolk looks like the small preview on the site then I think I am sold. Thanks in advance. June 21, 201213 yr sure I'll do some for you when I get home tonight - though I don't know the area at all (aussie) can you give me a lat & long or ICAO for anything specific? Ta
June 21, 201213 yr The results are pretty unimpressive IMO. I was flying around not really having a clue what things should look for. Then at the end of my flight I found where default FSX terrain ends and Prepar3d begins. Here a map of the route I flew (i disconnected below I had a chance to take a snap so had to paint the route back in :P) Picks are in the order of the route
June 21, 201213 yr Author Dude you are awesome! Thank you much. It looks like they concentrated more on downtown than the actual base. As the piers with the carriers still look exactly the same as in FSX. The downtown area is far improved though. Looks like I still need to continue work on the base for both FSX and this. Thanks again! Can't wait to get it. Steve Jordan Aviation Structural Mechanic SH-60B/HH-60H/MH-60R/MH-60S USN FSX Hours: 3000 and counting
