  1. +1 for not being able to connect to anything. Simply no sessions are listed. I have all ports forwarded properly too. Don't know if its me though...
  2. i did try amazon mate - they refused to ship both a satek x52 and the g940. pity because they are offering some really good prices. I ended up settling on a x52 from pccg. so in a couple of days itll be here and i can sim again :D
  3. if flying in Australia, download the OZx scenery packages. Bulk load of country airstrips have been modeled. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/8741-ozx-scenery-ozx-au-complete-ozx-na-complete-ozx-libraries/
  4. some interesting discussion guys. I was going to bring the state of FFB in racing sims to the debate. I think there must be an extra element of difficulty emulating FFB for a flight title, given that forces can go in 3 directions rather than the 2. I think this would present difficulties for emulators as well as hardware manufactuters, maybe the cost is just too prohibitive these days to justify for all but the most hardcore. I'll take a look at the G940... I must admit, even if their was just enough force so that trimming a aircraft felt right I'd be highly keen. just don't know about some of those negative reviews. TBH my saitek av8r has calibration issues, and I'd would by a trusted non FFB stick before 'taking a risk'... oh the decisions. seems the G940 is only available on the US logitech store anyway. Won't ship to australia. :(
  5. Hi Folks, I remember back - when I was a boy (10years ago :P ) The Microsoft Force Feedback Pro joystick reigned supreme in the peripheral department. Some of my best memories are using it to play NFS Hot Pursuit, FFB in all its glory made the game very satisfying for the time. Fast forward to present day, and I've been casually simming for 6 months or so using a cheapie Av8r-01. So having a look around I see that the majority, if not all stick on the market these days come sans, FFB. If i'm not mistaken this includes popular sticks suck as, Saitek X-52, Pro Cessna Yoke, CH Sticks, Thrustmaster HOTAS just to name a few. Is there a reason the industry has moved away from FFB? Has it been replaced by something else, or is it truely an unneeded addition these days? Infact so far the only 'recent' stick I've seen to include FFB is the Logitech Flight System G940 - which has received very mixed reviews. Can anyone shed some light on this for a newbie? :D Thanks
  6. did you have any other background processes using internets at the time? I've found that if anything is using internet the makes signing in to live problematic. make sure its the only app running
  7. if only the cub in flight had wheels that size :D
  8. nose dive into it... how long before you hit something?
  9. Hey guys, Being new here, I'm not sure of the rules in regards to plugging stuff on different forums, so if this breaks any rules I apologise and claim ignorance. For a bit of fun, I've recently been working on a bit of a how to guide for MS FSX including install, tweaking and addons. You can check it out here http://games.on.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=265&t=194773 We are slowly trying to build a simming community over at games.on.net so anyone who feels like they'd like to come in and say hi is more than welcome. Also - if anyone has suggestions for improvements or anything I'm all ears. Cheers!
  10. its pretty cool. but if you put your deposit down today you won't get it till 2015....
  11. Huge? Define huge... 2gb for a whole continent? I'm skeptical
  12. not sure if this has been mentioned previously. but if you disable water reflections, the clickspots should work. I think it will also fix up a few of the C90 issues, i have no refelection on water and carenadeo planes work fine :)
  13. truly amazing shots. :D may I ask whether you have any custom anti aliasing settings in play here Are you on Nvidia or ATI? No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get a shot with the same level of 'beauty' as you can. Things just look a little jaggy and unfocused for me IMO or do you think i'm being too critical? EG, best I can get, everything maxed (unplayable FPS)
  14. The results are pretty unimpressive IMO. I was flying around not really having a clue what things should look for. Then at the end of my flight I found where default FSX terrain ends and Prepar3d begins. Here a map of the route I flew (i disconnected below I had a chance to take a snap so had to paint the route back in :P) Picks are in the order of the route
  15. sure I'll do some for you when I get home tonight - though I don't know the area at all (aussie) can you give me a lat & long or ICAO for anything specific? Ta
