June 21, 201213 yr The scenery looks so real I had to look harder to verify it was a sim! What are you using for that? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
June 21, 201213 yr Author Thanks, guys. The scenery is ORBX Cairns Australia. I believe the deep contrast of the ground shadows is contributing to the sense of reality. John
June 21, 201213 yr Author The airport scenery package comes with over 100 sq/km of 30 cm/pixel photoreal coverage of the surrounding area including the entire city of Cairns and some of the suburbs. I like to buy the ORBX products that feature the most amount of "bonus" area. John
June 21, 201213 yr Author My water effects setting is kept at Mid 2x. But I like to play around with FS Water Configurator -- a great free utility -- to cut back on "Specular Reflection Intensity." With these particular shots, however, the credit should really go to the photoreal water textures that are part of the ORBX scenery. John
June 21, 201213 yr Cairns really came out nice! It is one of the best Orbx scenery IMO . David DD David

My reflections are just too much, or the way they are makes the plane look like a small model
June 21, 201213 yr Author I know what you mean. With FSWC, my favorite settings put the "sun specular reflection intensity" as low as 4%. Minimizes all that overdone glistening, sparkling effect. John
