Fuel Usage Issue

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is there any way to modify which tank a plane draws from?

The plane in question is the AC680 which I believe is a port from FS9 which I'm using if FSX. I have recently begun flying further than 100nm short hops and the plane seems to be draining the right fuel tank faster than the left. This was unnoticed with short hops. Both tanks have to empty before the center tank is used apparently. When the right becomes empty the right engine loses power and I have to adjust the fuel in the aircraft settings. So I wondered if there is a tweak to fix this so the tanks draw evenly or is it in the design and unfixable? The fuel valve has only "OFF", "BOTH", "LH", and "RH" to choose from, no "CENTER" available. I tried modifying the panel with a fuel valve from a different plane and it did not work out well.

Any advice would be welcome.

In my latest Grumman J2F-4/5/6 Duck panel iteration is a Fuel Tank Selector(FSX Gauges/DuckJ2F-X.CAB/Duck Eng Fuel select Rotate).

It Selects: All, Left, Right, Center(Marked Auxiliary), and Off...Don

If that doesn't work then a two engine fuel tank selector may be necessary

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl. I have noticed that the default tank selector seems to work IF I place the selector on LH for left tank. Both tanks seem to work in that position which may indicate a model problem, not sure.
