Opinion needed for my new setup

Featured Replies

I'll be spending nearly 2000$ for my new rig for FSX. Since it's a huge lump investment, I second opinion is of a great value in my case. This is the setup

That is nearly identical to the system I'm planning on getting. See this thread for some feedback http://forum.avsim.net/topic/376367-building-new-fsx-rig-need-opinions/

The 2400mhz RAM looks to be the way to go, but based on the feedback in the thread I linked, I suggest go for a GTX670 card instead as they are a fair bit cheaper but are almost on par with a GTX 680.

OK. After checking your system, I think it's right to save on the Graphics Card. I went for the GTX670 but I put the savings to update the MoBo the same as yours. I think the core I5 should be doing fine in FSX after overclocking. After all, the hypethreading will be turned off if it is an I7. This is my final setup
