  1. Is it something being told somewhere by PMDG staff or it's your own speculation guys?

In my humble opinion, while it is their full right not to disclose anything related to the 757 project, it should be a sign of courtesy if they keep the community informed about the progress especially that the project took so long compared to the standard development time. I bet if Boeing engineers were to work part time to make the real 757, it wouldn't take 8 years and more to develop the airplane. There is nothing bad in telling the community that the project has stalled or bugs have persisted. Working with modern technology has never been a sure business. At least that would free the 757 market for more inclined developers who have the resources to put full realism in the simulated aircraft. My belief is that a revamping of their 767 with a better looking VC, more goodies for the advanced simmers would have done better for their image in the FS community rather than sleeping with their 757 that long as if it is acceptable. Let's hope that they wake-up from their sleep someday with a good news
  3. Yes I do have that option checked. I was disappointed because It doesn't compare to what I see on youtube videos and screenshots. Regarding the 'Display Settings', I have seen a video on youtube showing that menu that's why I asked.
  4. Hi there Just started my first flight with the PMDG 777 and noticed that the VC textures resolution is very low. Thought there would be a settings menu for that in the OC but sadly the 'Display Settings' module is missing for the 777. I have the latest OC updated soon after installation.
  5. Thank you guys. I think the first fix did the job
  6. does anyone know a fix to adjust landing lights for AI. Looking from a distance they look like a large baloon of light moving.
  7. I just did a copy paste from ASE but inside FSX it shows the same values: 225/06. Anyway, that wouldn't change anything since a few seconds before writing these words, I finished another experiment by using REX weather engine and....the problem isn't there! All traffic use the same runways for landing and departing. I already put a thread in HiFi forums to report this issue. Let's see how things would improve.
  8. 1. Then why the problem disappeared when I deactivated ASE? 2. Yes there: Direction/speed 225/06
  9. This is what I do all the time KLAX 280153Z 00000KT 10SM CLR 225/06 A3000 Given the wind direction, I noticed that ATC assigns departing AI for the right runway 25L-R/24L-R. However landing AI still come from the opposite direction. Wind was smooth and didn't see any major shift in direction. I deactivated some options in ASE like "Force ATC Wind Lock" and "Direct Weather Control" to see if that helps but none. So I decided to close ASE and rely on default (real) weather coming from FSX, and I worked. This leaves room for only one reasonable explanation: ASE is messing up with ATC and AI. I checked HIFI sim webiste to see if someone has reported something similar but none. The only thing I found for wind smoothing is to update FSUIPC but that didn't help. I don't think the guys there are ready to make an update for me only
  10. Thanks Jim, I tried your trick but didn't work :(
  11. Even if I did, ATC would still assign runways randomly for takeoff and landing Usually I don't use FSX ATC because it's simply plain stupid when vectoring you on finals. I get the active runways from ATIS but since I can't disable ATC, it keeps throwing AI all over the place (It wouldn't surprise me if they send them to the nearby highway ). As I said this happens mostly with parallel runways for certain airports. Yesterday I disabled ASE and loaded a stable weather scenario to see if it works and it did. Now this refers to only one thing: the frequent change in wind direction is creating this whole mess. I need to find out how to smooth winds coming out of ASE and as far as I investigated, it's something worthy an update from the addon makers.
  12. It don't think that you can wait 20-30 min when you're landing. Once ATIS tells which runways are active, you get all the way through the STAR and there is nothing you can do when you're 10nm from the runway and AI taking off straight in your face  I'll try different scenarios to corner the problem exactly
  13. I'm not quite sure if everyone using third party weather engine has this problem, but something is seriousely wrong with FSX ATC. For some (unkown) reason ATC assigns opposite runways for takeoff and landing like 01L for landing and 19R for departing. As far as my experience is telling me, this happens mostly at airports with parallel runways like LAX, Manchester, Gatwick, LAS Vegas, etc. Disabling the weather engine doesn't help alot and seems to be ATC related. Wondering if anyone in the FS community got the answer to this problem.
  14. Certainly there is a gap for turboprops and somebody has to fill it. I'm thinking also about the ATR 600 series and Saab 340. But a Dash Q 400 is a nice start at least for someone like who enjoys hopping around regional airports in North America!
  15. OK. After checking your system, I think it's right to save on the Graphics Card. I went for the GTX670 but I put the savings to update the MoBo the same as yours. I think the core I5 should be doing fine in FSX after overclocking. After all, the hypethreading will be turned off if it is an I7.
